STEP-UP TRANSFORMER EVO-III

The EVO-III is designed to be used with low or medium output MC phono cartridges with a self (internal) impedance that ranges from 3 to 15 ohms. A transformer is placed inside of a copper lined enclosure for extra protection from hum and noise. The enclosure and transformer are protected from vibration inside and outside. The inside of enclosure transformer is “floating” in layers of low density polyurethane foam and outside has two strategically placed O-rings.

The EVO-III does not require additional phono stage interconnect cables to be used between the output of the cartridge and the input of the transformer. Because of its small size and weight, the EVO-III may be placed in the shortest proximity to the cartridge output connectors – only 5 inches away!   

Customers of the EVO-III, after providing information about the impedance of their cartridge and the input capacitance of their phono stage pre-amplifier, will receive completely customized step-up transformers that are “broken-in” and demagnetized prior to shipping.

The EVO-III is available as a single ended unit with male RCA or female DIN inputs and RCA female output connectors, or as a true balanced unit with female XLR output connectors. To use the EVO-III as a true balanced step-up transformer the phono stage pre-amplifier must have balanced (XLR) inputs.
